Day 9: Back to work

Today I started very early. I woke up at half past 6 to start work at half past 7. Mondays are a bit different from the other days. New students arrive each Monday and we are the ones who are responsible for welcoming them at the door. Therefore we have to be there very early. After welcoming them we gave the new students a small explanation of how everything works in here. Later we had to listen to a presentation of Martha for the students. In this presentation the main things of the school were shown, like: the building, the breaks and the activities. Afterwards the students were called by a teacher 1 by 1 to get there schedule for that week. When everyone got their schedule there was a group picture of them made.

We spent some time in the office with making the new events and posting the pictures of last weekend. After we did this there was another group of students who were waiting to be welcomed. We did the same ritual as we did in the morning. After the last break I had to search for Mexican music. This music will be played on the Mexican Night next Thursday.

At 9 o’clock that evening I went to the meeting point which is down the road. From there a bus would drive us to Paceville. Paceville is the centre of the nightlife on Malta. We went there for the welcome party. First we went to a club called Soho. It was very nice over there. We stayed there for a few hours and after that we went to another club called Footloose. In the end the night was lots of fun. I regret not going there last Monday… At about half past 12 I went back to the meeting point with the bus which was waiting for us.
